Yes. Elysium rings can be safely broken with vice grips or emergency ring cutters.
They’re designed to protect your finger — safety comes first.
Those marks aren’t scratches — they’re galling, caused by softer metals transferring onto your ring.
Use coarse sandpaper (like you would on wood) to remove them. It won’t damage the diamond.
Note: Avoid sanding gold or inlay areas.
Black diamond reflects light — so your ring may appear dark charcoal in certain lighting.
Over time, natural skin oils will darken the surface. To speed this up, apply a small amount of coconut oil or similar.
The ring is still 100% solid diamond — just with a natural, light-reactive finish.
